PRESIDENT:

Carson Hill

I am proud to be President of VITEO since 2023.  This club consists of a great group of people who actively participate in our events, and support our fund raising efforts so that VITEO can in turn support folks in our communities who are going through difficulties.  As a retired local auctioneer, I have had the privilege to work with many members in the agricultural industry over the years, and have made long-lasting connections and friendships.  I have a small collection of Massey Harris tractors, and one John Deere for my friends who are green with envy!

VICE-PRESIDENT:

Wayne Fraser

I joined VITEO in 2018, along with my wife Kathy.  We were asked to look after the membership and insurance for the club.  As a young boy, I spent summers at my uncle’s farm in Sarsfield, and he had Allis Chalmers tractors.  I bought my first Allis tractor in 2008 for our daughter’s farm, and this has now grown into a collection of 18 tractors.  .

TREASURER:

Glen Edwards

In 1990 I bought my first John Deere Two Cylinder tractor. Before I knew it, I had caught the bug and had a shed full of them.  I enjoy the people you meet finding them.  I joined Vintage Iron in 2013, as it sounded like a perfect fit with many common interests, and was happy to join the executive team soon after.  In recent years,  I have been collecting a few horse drawn wagons.  My favourite item in my collection is my Waterloo Boy.

SECRETARY:

Sylvia Payne

I joined the VITEO executive in 2024 as Club Secretary, and have been a member for several years, along with my husband Daryle.  My early years were on a dairy farm, and I’ve always had great respect for agriculture, and all the dedication and hard work involved with it.  VITEO is a wonderful group of people interested in preserving the history of agriculture.  Some of our members collections are truly amazing, and I consider it a privilege whenever we get to visit and view them.   We always have a great time at our events and meetings.  Retired from a long banking career,  I have time to help the club with their administrative needs.

DIRECTOR:

Barry Dean

As a founding member of VITEO, I have enjoyed the many connections I’ve made with like-minded collectors.   As 2024/2025 OVFS President, I am especially involved with the club’s association with the Ottawa Valley Farm Show, and am proud of the great display we put on in the antique room, as well as our annual Toy Auction at the OVFS.   I have a variety of collectibles including pedal tractors, hit and miss engines,  garden tractors, snowmobiles, horse drawn implements, wagons and buggies.

DIRECTOR:

Henry Staal

As a founding member and 1st President of VITEO, I have a very strong connection to our club. I firmly believe in our objectives and am quite proud of what we have accomplished over the years.  My collection consists of almost anything that is old and vintage.  My specialties are Minneapolis Moline tractors, dairy collectibles and chainsaws.  I call my barn-full of goodies the Pioneer Power Museum.  My most prized item in my collection is my Minneapolis Moline 1938 UDLX Car Tractor.  I look forward to future endeavours and new acquaintances.

DIRECTOR:

I have been a member of VITEO from it’s beginning, and am a past president.  I am a beef farmer, and am a retired mechanic of the Ottawa Fire Department.  I collect International Tractors, with my favourites being the Series 60 Farmalls.  I am a toy collector too.  I annually scout out the featured tractor that our club sells at the OVFS, and try to match it with a real version of the same make and model to have on display at the Antique Room.

Hank Bakker

DIRECTOR:

I have always had a love of farming, and all the equipment that entails.  I grew up on a dairy farm, and now cash crop, so it’s in my blood.  I started collecting toy tractors in my 20’s, and have been gradually adding to my inventory ever since.  The annual collector toy tractor sale at the OVFS drew my attention to VITEO, as well as knowing some fellow collectors, and I have been a proud member for several years now.  With my wife Sylvia, we look after the clothing and merchandise for the club, along with the annual sales of our club’s featured tractor.

Daryle Payne

DIRECTOR:

Sharen Armstrong

I joined VITEO in 2018.  This club was new to me, however,  I grew up on a farm and participated in 4-H, Junior Farmers, and Plowing Matches, and have always enjoyed being part of the agricultural community.  I have found the VITEO members and executive a great group of people to work with, and truly enjoy being involved with the planning of many events.  In 2024, I transitioned from Club Secretary to Director.

PAST PRESIDENT:

Francois Latour

Growing up on a farm, I developed a great love of Massey equipment.  I’m also known for the two successful Guinness World Records for most thrashing machines operating at one time. I’ve been a member since VITEO was first founded.  I’m proud to be associated with this organization, and the many passionate collectors who work together to make things happen.
