Williamsburg Harvestfest
September 27, 2024 - September 29, 2024
Williamsburg Harvestfest is an annual event that has run for 50+ years (with a short hiatus a few years ago), celebrating the harvest season, and our communities rural roots. This year Harvestfest will be September 27-29th, and is based at J.C. Whitteker Park (ball diamonds) in Williamsburg.
The Friday evening always starts off the celebrations with a kids movie night in the park. Saturday is the main event; we have local craft/food vendors, kids games & activities, baking contests, as well as a short parade through the village. Our fire department sets up kids activities with the trucks, and we have bouncy castles etc. we also do horse drawn wagon rides through the back fields. Hours are usually 10-4, with everything being at the park. Saturday evening there is a dance held at the IOOF hall.
Sunday has changed over the years, and is still in the planning stages. Possibly it will be a ball tournament, but will also be our kids parade at the seniors Center, where kids decorate their bikes etc and do a parade with the seniors.
We were thinking that it was be really fun to have some members of vintage Iron set up a display on the Saturday while everyone is down at the park. Given that we have lots of hands on activities for the kids, I think a no touch display would be just fine if that’s what works for your members. Depending on how many participants you had, we would just have an area of the park set aside for you guys.
We run the program through community donations, making it a free event (except for food/vendor purchases) for everyone.
Daryle Payne and John Payne are each taking their Antique John Deere tractors to display at this event, and Daryle is asking for more members to participate as well. Please let Daryle know if you would like to showcase your antique item(s) for display at 613-223-6817
